Mr Thyne commenced specialist practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Wellington in 1996. He has degrees in both Dentistry and Medicine, and is registered as a Specialist Surgeon with the Dental Council of New Zealand and the Medical Council of New Zealand.
He has a postgraduate masters degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, achieved with Distinction and a Specialist Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Mr Thyne has a strong interest in professional development and continuing education. He lectures in New Zealand and internationally.
He has previously been an examiner for the final specialist examination with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in Australia and at the University of Otago.
Mr Thyne has a busy implant practice. He has placed over 10,000 dental implants for dental reconstruction ranging from single teeth to full jaw replacement. He also carries out a range of dentoalveolar surgery including; removal of wisdom teeth, broken down teeth, bone grafting and biopsy of oral lesions.
